BLM’s Eagle Creek Field Office in California & Nevada Completes Management Planning Process
May 6, 2008 – BLM’s Eagle Lake Field Office in northeast California and western Nevada has published a notice of availability for the Eagle Lake Resource Management Plan (RMP) Record of Decision. The Record of Decision, signed by BLM’s California State Director, serves as the final step in the management planning process. The planning area includes 1,022,767 acres in Lassen, Plumas, and Sierra Counties in California as well as Washoe County in Nevada. The RMP designates routes open for motorized travel in 7 Areas of Critical Environmental Concern (ACEC). Those ACECs are Eagle Lake Basin (34,320 acres), Susan River (2,495 acres), Pines Dunes (2,887 acres), Willow Creek (2,130 acres), Lower Smoke Creek (894 acres), Buffalo Creek Canyons (36,515 acres), and North Dry Valley (10,156 acres).
