Emergency Closure of Public Lands in Yuba County, CA

December 7, 2007 – The BLM Folsom Field Office issued an emergency closure of 160 acres of public land in Yuba County in order to protect spawning areas of certain species of fish.  Motor vehicle use is prohibited because vehicles have adversely affected spawning redds by entering the river.  The closure is effective immediately and will remain in effect until the Sierra Resource Management Plan and supplemental rules relevant to the closure are finalized.  Closure signs will be posted at the main entry points.
