The short explanation of this alert was:

Possible vote this week!  Please act now!

ARRA has consistently fought to make sure that public input is a central part of management planning for public lands and waterways.  Unfortunately, Rep. Tom Udall (NM) is sponsoring an amendment to the Department of the Interior’s appropriations bill that would limit public involvement in Forest Service planning.

ARRA strongly opposes this amendment because it would allow less local input and control in the planning process.  We feel that public participation in each national forest’s planning procedures is essential to securing recreational access.

You can help defeat this amendment and preserve your participation in the planning process by writing to your Member of Congress
