The short explanation of this alert was:

Contact Your Senator to Have Your Voice Heard

The House had its hearing now the Senate will have its turn.  As you may recall, a House Natural Resources Subcommittee held a hearing on OHV use in March and we asked you to weigh in at that time.  Your efforts paid off.  While the testimony from several of the witnesses had an anti-OHV slant, the actual comments from the Members of the Committee were largely supportive of managed OHV recreation.

Now it is important to weigh in on the Senate hearing.

The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee has scheduled an oversight hearing  “to receive testimony regarding off-highway vehicle management on public lands” on June 5, 2008.  The witness list has not been set as of this time, but it is important that OHV enthusiasts weigh in with members of the Committee to make sure they understand the importance of continued and improved OHV recreation on federal lands.

Please click the Send This Message button to send a message to your Senator, who is an Energy and Natural Resources Committee Member, outlining your support for OHV recreation on federal lands.

ARRA and other national OHV organizations are working with the Committee to ensure that the voice of OHV enthusiasts will be heard at the hearing, but we need your help to ensure that each member of the Committee hears from the OHV community prior to the hearing.
