USFS OHV Designation Center

The U.S. Forest Service is in the process of implementing its Travel Management Rule.  The rule requires all forests to designate and map OHV routes and when completed, no OHV use will be allowed except on these designated routes.  Now that individual Forests are in the process of implementing the rule, it is extremely important that OHV riders participate in this process.

ARRA will continue to provide you with as much advance information about the designation process as possible.   We have also compiled a comprehensive list of all National Forests for the convenience of our ARRA members.  We encourage you to find the Forest(s) closest to you and visit its website regularly, as it may have more up-to-date information, and to contact your Forest and find out how you can participate by attending public meetings, preparing comments etc.

OHV Route Designation Workshops/Updates

ARRA has partnered with the Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC), the Specialty Vehicle Institute of America (SVIA) and the Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association (ROHVA), who are providing resources to develop and conduct a series of workshops for U.S. Forest Service personnel and OHV enthusiasts.  The workshops are aimed at ensuring that the new OHV Route Designation Rule results in quality OHV trail systems that are adequate for demand, sustainable and fun.

ARRA also alerts its members about upcoming meetings, requests for comments on proposals and other route designation processes happening on local Forests.
