Allegheny National Forest in Pennsylvania Cancels ATV Trail Expansion Project

July 16, 2009 – The Bradford Ranger District of Allegheny National Forest has published a withdrawal of a Notice of Intent to prepare an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the proposed Willow Creek ATV Trail Expansion project, which would add 23 to 43 miles of new trail.  The Ranger District has stated that the reason for the project cancellation is that it wouldn’t be responsible to spend $40,000 per mile given that existing motorized and non-motorized trails and facilities need significant amounts of work.
